National Sawdust III: PUBLIQ Access 4.0: Our Environment Brooklyn, NY

  • National Sawdust 80 North 6th Street (map)

PUBLIQ Access 4.0: Our Environment, the daring, cutting–edge PUBLIQuartet presents three world premieres responding to the crisis facing our environment. Dedicated to commissioning and presenting works by composers outside the standard classical canon, PUBLIQuartet is a propulsive force in the contemporary chamber music world, amplifying marginalized voices and drawing attention to the most pressing issues of today. PUBLIQuartet, one of National Sawdust’s Artists-in-Residence, has collaborated with artists ranging from the International Contemporary Ensemble to Helga Davis and Billy Childs, appearing everywhere from Lincoln Center to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where they performed an improvised soundtrack to a live presidential debate. Our Environment is at once a dire warning, a call to action, and a reason for hope.
